This half size card provides 2 industry standard RS232 serial COM ports in a single Low Profile PCI slot. A fully moulded cable terminated in 2 x 9 pin male ‘D’ connectors ensures neat and easy connections. As PCI is fully Plug & Play compatible the operating system or BIOS automatically configures the card ensuring conflict free installation. Low-Profile PCI is a modification to the PCI standard for space-constrained system designs. It maintains the same electricals, protocols, PC signals and software drivers as standard PCI v2.2; however, these cards have a shorter raw card and new mounting bracket for card retention. The UC-253 uses Brainboxes new industry leading UART BB16PCI958 and supports both 3.3V / 5V standards
