This Universal PCI Low Profile card provides 1 industry standard 9 pin RS232 serial COM port in a single PCI slot, plus a second RS232 connection which is available on the flying lead header using the optional male 9 pin 'D' type serial cable.

This product is designed to suit a variety of retail and financial applications. The UC-101 uses Brainboxes own BB16PCI958 industry leading UART giving 128 byte transmit and receive FIFO and more efficient data transfer due to greater control of FIFO trigger levels and readable FIFO levels.

This product is the first of Brainboxes new range of Universal PCI cards to be launched and supports both 5V and 3.3V standards. The UC-101 has just been approved by Microsoft WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) which means it meets the designed for Windows XP standard and will help customers identify products that deliver a high quality computing experience.

As PCI is fully Plug & Play compatible the operating system or BIOS automatically configures the card ensuring conflict free installation. The UC-101 uses Brainboxes new industry leading UART BB16PCI958 and supports both 3.3V / 5V standards
